CME Project in Ghazni

CME (Community Midwifery Education) project in Ghazni province is a unique project in its kind which was awarded to BDN in 2009

The objective of the CME is to build up capacities of the community midwifes in order to reduce maternal, neonatal and child mortalities.
CME project is regularly monitored by donors to ensure that CME program is run by implementing NGO as per the standards. Also as per the requirement, progress report of the project should to be submitted to MOPH and WHO on regular basis.

Overall Progress of the project:

In spite of security problem, the academic activities of CME program in Ghazni province is smoothly going on, the trainers have covered up to 9 modules of the program. On 2nd February, 2010 the practical phase of CME program has been started. All staff members of CME program are present (2 trainers, 25 students with supporting staff). Out of 25 students 12 students with their children are living in the hostel..

Province Coverage in Afghanistan
Baghlan
Provision of quality services through 33 health facilities to population of 720058 in 2008, new 7 sub centers and one mobile health team established which provides additional coverage to 275000 People

Balkh
A total if 54 health facilities 7 of which were established in 2008 provide quality health services to 612773 people besides, by establishment of one mobile health team a totally 240000 people in remote areas start utilizing health services

Daikundi
A total of 612773 people receive quality health services through 36 health facility by establishing 5 sub centers and one mobile health team in 2008, a total of 265000 people started benefiting from health services.

 Ghazni
Provision of quality services through 26 health facilities to population of 637769, Establishment of new 5 sub centers and one mobile health team which provides additional services to 265000 People.
